“I felt stuck and unsure where to begin. Clare helped me find clarity, confidence, and a clear path forward.”

The Employment Rights Act will introduce statutory pregnancy loss bereavement leave for the first time in the UK, expected around 2027. For most employers, this will be the first legal obligation to provide dedicated support for employees who experience loss before 24 weeks.

A legal entitlement to leave is a start. But legislation creates the floor. Culture creates the ceiling. And the gap between those two things is where the real work happens.

The employers who begin building that infrastructure now will be ready. The rest will be retrofitting.
